From the 2nd to the 6th October, Autismo Burgos hosted a learning activity of the IPA+ project, attended by a dozen partners from the Portuguese Federation for Autism (FPDA), the Serbian Society of Autism (SSA) and the Research Institute on Social Welfare Policy (Polibiesnestar) at the University of Valencia. At this stage, project partners (along with Autism-Europe) are agreeing on the content and implementation of the online training courses, including a basic level for professionals who will work with people on the autism spectrum, and an advanced level for professionals who want to acquire specialist knowledge and skills.
During these working days, different visits were organised to enable the project partners to learn about Autism Burgos’s different services and facilities, including their service for people with Asperger’s syndrome, their day center for adults with autism, their school and education units and their housing service. Autismo Burgos is the entity in charge of coordinating the development of didactic materials, which will be piloted in Spain, Portugal and Serbia in the coming months. On top of the work plan, project partners took part in various cultural and tourist activities; allowing project partners to get to know Burgos’s most outstanding monuments.
IPA+ partners will meet again in February 2018 in Belgrade, Serbia. The project foresees four transnational meetings over its two-year lifespan.
